India is an agricultural country and animal husbandry is a profitable business for the farmers and keeping this in mind the Government of India has announced several schemes for animal husbandry. To increase the earning of our farmer brothers, NABARD has launched Dairy Entrepreneur Scheme in 2005.Under this scheme, it has been decided to give 25 percent subsidy for the general category farmers and 33 percent subsidy for the women and SC category in the equipment to be purchased. Pashudhan Vibhag will provide loan of 7 lakh to dairy of 10 animals under this scheme. There is a provision to give subsidy up to 33.33% of the animal husbandry project cost.

Under this project -
- Sahiwal, Red Sindhi, Gir, Rathi, Buffalo etc. 10 animals can be reared by farmers or individual entrepreneurs.
- An organization can maintain 2 to 10 animals per person,
- Loan up to 700000/-
- General category people will get 25% i.e. ₹ 17500 per animal loan
- Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe people and women will get 33% i.e. ₹ 23300 loan
- Project of 20 calves -
Under this project -
- Loan for Hybrid, Desi Cattle and Cattle Buffalo
- Loan up to ₹ 970000 for 20 calves,
- 25% i.e. Rs 12100 per calf loan will be available for the general category
- 33% i.e. ₹ 16200 per calf loan will be given to people and women belonging to scheduled castes and tribes.

How to apply for the scheme -
To apply offline for the scheme, go to the Livestock Department of your
Panchayat, otherwise go to the Livestock Department of the district, fill
the application form and inform them about your dairy and get a loan from
the bank, For online application, visit any e-Mitra or cyber cafe near you,
