As a token of gratitude and appreciation to India's farmers, Ojiva, India's leading certified clean and plant-based holistic wellness brand, launched the Ojiva Farmers Development Program. Through this program, the brand aims to empower farmers and families through various initiatives starting from the education of farmers' children.
The farming community is an integral part of the clean, plant-based ecosystem built by the brand since 2016. Through this programme, Oziva will contribute to enabling better livelihoods for farmers and their families with every purchase made on www.oziva.in. ,
Speaking on the initiative, Mihir Gadani, Co-Founder, OZiva, said, “The OZiva Farmers Development Program is an extension of the immense gratitude we feel towards the farming community. Through this program, we will play our part in creating a brighter and more promising future for the farmer families of the country by empowering them at various levels. We feel proud and humbled at the same time to have the opportunity to serve and empower the philanthropists of our country.
"We strongly believe that it is our duty to give back to the farming community that feeds the entire nation and is an integral part of our plant-based ecosystem," said Aarti Gill, co-founder of Ojiva.
About 60% of India's population is farmers. However, many of these farmers earn less than Rs. 5000 from farming activities. With families to feed and responsibilities to meet, many of these farmers find it extremely difficult to make ends meet. And OZiva hopes to change that through the OZiva Farmer Development Program.
This program will cover 4 major aspects of farmers' lives over the next 7 years so that 10,000 farmers can become self-reliant and build a bright future for themselves and their families:
- Education - Supports children's education for a (their) better tomorrow
- Aarogya - Better health and nutrition for farmers and their families
- Vriddhi - Educate farmers for better production, access to best practices
- Sampoorna - Creating an ecosystem where more and more farmers are empowered by sourcing some of the key ingredients they produce
Launched a few months back, the first phase of the program involved supporting the education and dreams of 100 children from the farming community in Maharashtra. In the coming months, the brand hopes to help even more children while also laying the groundwork for the program's other initiatives.
