Pradhan Mantri Adi Adarsh Gram Yojana 2022
Pradhan Mantri Adi Adarsh Gram Yojana has been implemented by the
Ministry of Tribal Affairs. Under this scheme, villages with tribal
population of the country will be made a model. Recently the Ministry of
Tribal Affairs has amended the Tribal Sub Plan and Special Central
Assistance Scheme with the renaming of Pradhan Mantri Adi Adarsh Gram Yojana
(PMAGY) for implementation during 2021-22 to 2025-26.
About 16,554 villages have been covered for this scheme during 2022-23. So
far an amount of Rs 1927 crore has already been released to the states. And
Pradhanmantri Aadi Aadarsh Gram Yojana has been approved for the
implementation of 6264 villages. At the same time, a total of 3764 villages
have been identified in Gujarat under this scheme. Out of these, approval
has been given for 1562 villages under PMAAGY. A total of Rs 35318.54
lakh has been released to Gujarat under this scheme.
Features of PM Adi Adarsh Gram Yojana
- Pradhan Mantri Adi Adarsh Gram Yojana has been implemented to convert tribal-dominated villages into model villages.
- Through this scheme, to make the Scheduled Tribe people capable of leading, their basic services and facilities have to be made accessible. So that the people of Scheduled Tribes can also lead a respectable life and make full use of their capabilities.
- The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has recently revamped the existing Special Central Assistance Scheme into Tribal Sub-Scheme. And it has been named Pradhan Mantri Adi Adarsh Gram Yojana.

The main objective of Pradhan Mantri Adi Adarsh Gram Yojana is to develop the
villages selected under this scheme completely socially, economically. Through
this scheme, a village development plan has to be prepared based on the needs,
capabilities and aspirations of villages with tribal population. And apart
from this, the individual family benefit schemes of the Central and State
Governments have to be given maximum benefits. Through this scheme, the
infrastructure of important areas like health, education, connectivity,
livelihood is also to be included in the village with tribal population.
The main goal of Pradhan Mantri Adi Adarsh Gram Yojana is to bring
tribal villages to ideal level. And they have to be converted into ideal
villages. During the financial year 2021-22 to 2025-26, 4.22 crore villages
with tribal tribal population are to be converted into Adarsh Gram under this
scheme.
Converting villages with tribal population into model villages
The main goal of Pradhan Mantri Adi Adarsh Gram Yojana is to remove
the obstacles in the development of the village. Under this scheme, a
population of 4.22 crore (about 40 percent of the total tribal population)
villages with tribal population are to be converted into model villages.
States/UTs have also been asked to cover at least 50% ST population and 500
STs and 36428 villages along with the notified tribes.
Under PMAAGY, an amount of Rs 20.38 lakh will be provided to each
village for the approved works including administrative expenses. The
facilities which are not there in the tribal village with this amount. Or
the facilities which are lacking will be completed. Apart from this, it also
includes maximizing the coverage of Individual Family Benefit Scheme of
Central State Governments and improving the infrastructure of critical
sectors like education, health, livelihood connectivity connectivity.
The deficiencies in these areas will be removed in the plan
Under Pradhan Mantri Adi Adarsh Gram Yojana, major deficiencies will
be removed in 8 areas. which is the lower region.
